This past weekend we were witness to a rare natural phenomenon that took the country by storm:
A total solar eclipse.
And it was one that would go clear across the nation, from Oregon all the way to South Carolina, people flocked to certain parts of the country just to get a glimpse of totality, where the moon completely blocks out the sun for a couple of minutes, casting a dark shadow on the land. Uncle Tadd drove out to Nebraska to see it, whereas the rest of the country only saw a 94-98% partial eclipse, like here in Orlando, where it got slightly dark, like a hazy dusk, but nothing too impressive. The school purchased special eclipse viewing glasses for all the students, so it was neat for them to see it without ruining their eyesight.
Just as the eclipse was happening in Orlando, couldn't really see anything with the phone's camera.
The kids looking at the last part of the eclipse after school dismissal.
At the peak of the eclipse in Orlando, a haze around the sun, and a slightly darker sky.
View through the eclipse viewer glasses lenses.
Here was our [short] week:
Attended a baby shower for our friends Adrien and Stacy Shepherd, their first baby, Victoria would be born a week later.
I can't believe that Brae has lost tooth #12. I'm looking at the blog on my phone for the first time and guess what? I can save the pictures! I'm happier now!
The Eclipse happened because the sun could not find your Van moving around! How many different Vans have you tried and is there a favorite? If Brae keeps losing teeth she is going to need dentures, tell her. Papa
