We received more than a blessing from our week in VBS. Apparently the girls got too close to some friends, and decided to share more than their personal space. One of the parents whose daughter was infected gave us a call to let us know, which was nice. We did a check and saw nothing, except flakes of dry skin. Well, a couple of days later those "flakes" had turned out to be eggs, and so now we had the dreaded situation on our hands.
Tell tale signs: Itching of hair, and red rash/bits on nape of neck and behind ears.
Madelyn and Braelyn had them; fortunately Kohl did not. And neither did Mommy or Daddy, and we hoped to keep it that way! So we spent the next week doing hair treatments, combing and washing and going through the girls' hair strand by strand. We also had to strip their beds and toys, and spray their rooms and do some thorough cleaning, lest those pests find their way back. Crossing our fingers we don't get them again!
Picked up medicated shampoo, gels and combs!
The white dots are eggs we had to remove, as they hatch every 1-2 days and then those lay more eggs!
You can tell how pleased I was about this ordeal.
You had to use a magnifying glass to see those buggers!
Here was our week:
Buddy not feeling too good the weekend after VBS.
And it showed..."Stop taking my picture!"
It only last a couple of days, we felt better and took a short road trip to visit the grandparents in Avon Park.
Kohlden and
Madelyn helping with dusting and chores.
Brae making some treats for Tux from scratch!
Randoms:
Just gorgeous sunsets we've been having.
Picked up some fresh eggs from the Jamiesons. We love their colors!
Learning how to perfect the steamed egg. We prefer them steamed to help with peeling!
A nice big jackfruit from the grandparents. They had a huge crop this year!
You never called the critters by name, were they lice? Courtney and both kids had lice the week before school started. I hope you are ok by now. Love Nana
