We attended our 2nd VBS of the summer this week, hosted by our church. A few months ago Marlissa had tapped me to be one of the assistant directors, along with Fiorella, to help her with putting the VBS together, so we had a lot of planning sessions, finally setting up and decorating last week, before Monday's first day.
The kids had a lot of fun; it was a snowy theme called Operation Arctic, about the "coolest" book on the planet, the Bible. Along with being the Asst. Director, I was also asked to be the mascot, so I dressed like an arctic explorer, changing my name every day with the starting letters to spell out B-I-B-L-E. It was neat to see the kids' reactions to my daily get up, but it was extremely hot; I must've shed 5 lbs just sweating under the beard and parka.
I also helped Jared put a recap video together; we made history by being the first VBS to fly a drone INSIDE the church! You can see the video by clicking HERE.
