This past week gave us an introduction to a new part of Braelyn's classroom curriculum. Starting in 5th grade through Jr. High, the students get a chance to learn and work in the new Emeril Legasse Kitchen House and Culinary Garden, just across the street from OJA. It had been under construction for the past 2 years, and now it is completed and able to be used by the students and community. It is an amazing facility, with state of the art features, and allows the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience that will last a lifetime.
Of course, as a parent of the said 5th grader and a closet foodie, I was very open to the opportunity to come and help teach and assist the students, which I do on Fridays. And what a treat, I get to work alongside a renowned local celebrity chef and get to eat the delicious creations at the end of the cooking sessions! It definitely has it's perks!

Here was our week:
Friday evening we had some friends and former neighbors together for supper.
It had been a whole 4 years since we got our families together when everyone lived in the neighborhood.
Sadly, the Grodack and Ottati families moved up to Apopka this past summer.
It was a lot of fun enjoying food and fellowship together.
The girls enjoyed hanging out together!
Mommy ironing on Braelyn's patches on her Pathfinder uniform for induction service Sabbath afternoon.
The twins also had their Adventurers meeting at the same time. Atten-hut!
The girls in their dress uniform, waiting for the program to begin.
Kohlden joins the parents in the sanctuary.

The parents were asked to come up front for a prayer blessing, so we took a group picture.
Group photo after receiving their scarves.
Afterwards they joined in the fun, with supper and games at the church.
Meanwhile we joined the Ottatis for supper at the Clarkes.
It was nice to hang out and do some planning together!
Sunday morning, Maddy has her cereal and (decaf) coffee!
The twins and I joined the Bergs at Bonnett Creek. Usually a get together for Labor Day weekend,
it happened a week earlier this year!
Kohl enjoying the water slide.
She loved the lazy river.
He enjoyed the kids area and water cannons.
Just a fun resort!
Wednesday drove down to pick up the parents for the airport.
We swung by REI so they could take a look at all the cool camping gear.
Saying goodbye to Lala.
We'll miss you, have a great time!
