So, I guess I have to mention that I have recently joined Mike and Jared's company as their director of marketing and social media. I've been enjoying making videos over the past few years and have helped them on a number of occasions, and so they brought me in to network and market JMichaelMedia beyond who they had been mostly working with in the past, namely churches and healthcare.
It's official!
Our first step was to start getting ourselves into different industries, so I reached out to my contact at Edible Ed, Chef Kevin Fonzo, to see if he needed help marketing his new concept restaurant, La Tavola. He is a local celebrity chef with ties to Emeril Legasse and so we thought this would be a fun way to get some new content as well as to start getting the company name out there. He agreed and we set about filming one of his dinner events, with only a couple days to prepare.
Day 1, on set at the Kitchen House at OJA.
Jared getting a bird's eye view of the landscape. Lighting, angles, backgrounds all going through his head.
Setting up some lights, we brought the big boy for this one.
Chef Kevin collaborating with some others for table setting ideas.
We also brought the big jib to get a top view of the table from above.
Having Chef Kevin record his voiceover for the video.
La Tavola is Italian for "The Table" and his restaurant is about bringing people back to the table, for good food and company. His table was immaculately set, and the numerous food and courses were just absolutely stunning and delicious, the aroma wafting through the room as we followed him here and there filming the event. We even had a chance to taste some with his guests at the very end!
Day 2, following the chef as he does his thing.
It was neat to film him in a working kitchen, including
prepping the red snapper for the fish dish.
The table was huge and set immaculately.
And so were the dishes of food!
I mean, come on! Look at the figs with mascarpone cheese!
Chef addresses and greets his guests.
Continuing to film him create his masterpieces. There were 7 courses in all.
A great shot of everyone at La Tavola, the table.
Prepping the snapper for his guests.
It was a fun shoot!
So here is the final product of our commercial for La Tavola. We hope you enjoy.
