This week was a doozy. So much so that this post is a whole day late. My apologies to all!

This week's adventures began Friday evening when Lala decided to drive up by herself again to Orlando. She's quietly gaining confidence and before you know it she'll be driving all over the place! Lolo had joined some friends for a deep sea fishing day trip and hadn't returned by the time Lala was ready to leave for Orlando so off she went without him! He joined us Sabbath morning for church and the afternoon before heading back down to Avon Park. Saturday night was a non-event for us, just stayed home eating a buffet meal from Whole Foods (never, ever go there on an empty stomach, as a planned cheap meal ended up costing close to $50) and watching Bride Wars on Blue Ray. I am so glad my best friend and I never chose the same location to get married!

Sunday I worked whilst the girls played. They spent some time at the pool, giving Braelyn some practice for her swimming lessons. My big girl is a fish, I tell you. This week she had to swim with actual heavy clothes on so she could learn how to float if she fell in fully clothed. They also had her start snorkeling, and she ended up completing the swimming course in 3 weeks vs. the allotted 4 weeks. So next week they're going to teach her some different strokes.

Here is a quick video of her from the first week she started:
Monday I was off and as a treat Tangie and I took Nana and Deeda along with the twins out for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. They enjoyed themselves as it was a nice reprieve from the daily babysitting routine, however the babies were quite scared when the loud thunder and elephant noises came on every 20 minutes. Hadn't seen that reaction before. After a nice lunch with the monkeys and elephants we actually did get caught in a rainstorm. A big one. It rained and rained and seemed like it would never stop; We took cover under a Disney employee's kiosk and made chit chat with him until the storm subsided slightly just enough to give our bravery a chance to flee our small yet worthy shelter for the minivan. We're just thankful Nana & Deeda's hair didn't get wet! And they celebrated by eating ice cream...

Tuesday through Friday was a ton of stress at work as I and the rest of the leadership team prepared to host a visit from our Sr. VP of Store Operations from corporate in San Francisco tomorrow. And to top it all off, on Thursday afternoon as I was coming in for my shift, I foiled an attempt by two men in stealing 48 units of merchandise totalling over $1200. They were by the front entrance stuffing their booster bag when I came around the corner, unexpected. They saw me as I observed what they were doing, and I moved to block the entrance and said "Hey guys, what's going on?" at that point they dropped the booster bag and took off from the store. Upon reviewing the video tape, I also noticed 2 ladies leave after the men had gone, one with a booster bag as well, although it looked empty. Our Altamonte location had been hit big the day before, and the GM had told me there were four people involved, so I knew these were the same culprits. As happy as I was for not losing the items, it was a wake up call to realize how often these situations actually occur without us knowing it. And if I had been running late, or even early for that matter, I would have missed the opportunity to stop them. For the rest of the day I looked at each customer as if they were a potential shoplifter, which, of course, took the joy and innocence of the customer engagement piece away.
The twins continue to grow and grow. They actively engage in conversation with us, along with eye contact, cooing and smiles. Braelyn keeps encouraging them to watch Dora the Explorer with her, as one picture depicts, including Nana and Deeda.

This weekend is the last for Nana and Deeda as they fly back to Denver on Tuesday. How fast did the past 4 weeks go? We are so glad that they came to help out and watch the kids grow a lot in that time. We'll have a few weeks on our own again with Tangie on more maternity leave before the twins start daycare after Labor Day, and then another month before our family excursion to California for Little Brother's wedding. We received their invitation today and they look so content together. We look forward to the wonderful occassion. I've got less than two months to start losing some weight!

Have a great week everyone!
