This past Sunday we participated in a 5k and kids' Fun Run benefitting colon cancer awareness, Tangie and her team at work doing it in memory of a colleague who had recently passed away from the disease. We had never taken part in any formal race, partly because we're not the endurance type of athletes (and even the term athletes is quite a stretch) and partly because we had no reason to.
It was very neat and a lot of fun, you could see the camaraderie of everyone involved, either racing in honor of or in memory of someone affected by the disease. The twins did great in the Fun Run with no accidents or spills (I was really concerned that Maddy might get tangled up somewhere and biff it) and Braelyn joined Mommy and her Siemens audit team to run/walk the 5k. They did it in less than an hour with a time of 54:55!
But it was just nice to be a part of a good cause.

Brae's gymnastic routine was very impressive. She is a natural. How great for her......Allen, I didn't see you running to raise money. Maybe if they had a bike-a-thon?
