"There is just something about 18 years. Eighteen is a good number,
and today I retire from pro football."
~ Peyton Manning, March 7, 2016.
A bittersweet week this week, what I had hoped for but dreaded at the same time happened.
On Monday Peyton Manning announced his retirement, and with it, the end of an era. What a run he has had, and especially the last 4 years playing for the Broncos. It has been so much fun watching our team win and have such a high rate of success while he was at the helm. I always felt like we had a fighting chance to win every game, even when we were behind, as long as he was under center. Sure, this last year had its fill of injuries and controversy, but the end result was the return of the Lombardi trophy to Denver, and with it, an opportunity for The Sheriff to ride off into the sunset a champion. An opportunity he took on Monday.
He walks away a champion, and with it, all the top records and accolades he had set in his career. Some of them. like having the most passing yards in a season, the most touchdown passes in a single season, and all time passing yards and touchdowns, he had reached while playing in Denver. Man, was it fun watching him play. Next year's team is going to look so different; at least we'll have free agent and former backup QB Brock Osweiler at the helm. Oh wait, he just signed with the Houston Texans for 4 years/$72 Million. Seriously Brock? Didn't we just groom you for the past 4 years behind one of the greatest quarterbacks ever?? In any case, we start over next year, and I can't wait to see how Elway makes it happen.
Thanks Peyton. It was a lot fun.

Quotes:
Parallel parking in downton Winter Garden:
Brae: "Backing up looks difficult."
Me: "Well, you have to do a lot of practice."
Brae: "But what if you hit something?"
Me: "Well, you have to keep your eyes open, and know where everything is."
Brae: "So…no blinking??"
Kohlden was cleaning in the kitchen, and all of a sudden I heard a sound that resembled a fart:
