Please. Stop. Raining!

4 Years, 24 Weeks.

It has rained every day for the past 23 days.  Yes, I know this is Florida and we have our daily afternoon thunderstorms, but this is ridiculous.  23 days??  And it didn't seem like it was just in the afternoon;  it would rain and keep raining as early as 10 AM.  Which limited our time to get anything done outside the house, namely, the lawn.  It has rained so much several counties have been under flood warnings this week.

I guess I shouldn't be complaining; some states out West are still in severe drought.  But we've had enough, thank you very much.  The kids have had enough.  Our lawn is so wet and saturated we've started growing fungi.  Mushrooms, to be precise.  12 different species, last time I counted.

Enough, I say!

Here was our week:

We were invited to the Kitrell's home Friday afternoon to celebrate Kaitlyn's 3rd birthday.

Maddy riding the stuffed elephant.

Overcast and raining, that didn't stop the children from wanting to swim in their pool!

Saturday evening Tangie threw me a surprise birthday party at our house!

Blake and Corey dig into the yummy deliciousness.

With Mommy's assistant.  Happy she could help in the "surprise!"

With the sneaky wife!

About to blow the candles out on my birthday "sushi", Twizzler wrapped rice crispies treats.

The guys went over to Duncan's afterwards to have a manly movie night.  Thanks Corey!

At the Grodacks the following morning, for breakfast during their garage sale.

The kids selling cupcakes and lemonade at their table.

Catching Mommy playing with the kids' toys!  She was organizing,
and ended up throwing quite a bit away, thank you!

Picture day at school for the twins on Monday.

Picked up a nice 12 foot Sea Grape tree from a nursery in Apopka and drove it home with me in the van.

The twins working on their homework.

Picking Braelyn up on Tuesday.  She lost another tooth!

Maddy came down with a fever Tuesday evening, so I kept her home with me on Wednesday.

She was feeling better and accompanied me to get some plants…and we were shocked
to find that Christmas trees are already out in full force!

A magic show before heading to bed!

Have a great week!

  1. Oh Allen, stop your whining about the rain! Instead, count your blessings, including the rainy days. Have a great week.
