Easter

6 Years, 49 Weeks.

Our usual Easter weekend celebration was canceled due to a tragedy that befell our local Adventist community this past week.

Rob Fulbright, an executive with Florida Hospital and a member of our church, suffered a massive heart attack last Sunday evening and never recovered, passing on the following Tuesday afternoon.  He left behind a wife and 4 young daughters; he was only 47 years old.  His sudden passing rocked the community and left all of us in disbelief.

We were not very close with them, only acquaintances through many of our friends, but we knew who they were and had numerous quick greetings and chats at church and throughout the many social functions and events we would see them at.  He was an exemplary man, and his family one of the most gracious ones around, it was no wonder over 3000 people attended his memorial service and funeral on Friday.  He lived a Christ-centered life and treated everyone he met with kindness and respect.  That was his legacy, and it made all of us who were impacted by his life want to be better people because of it.

Rob and his family, wife Yvonne and their 4 daughters.

This part of Rob's service when his daughters spoke broke me.

A good man, he will be missed.

Here was the rest of our week:

  1. Wow, I didn't know about your 47 year old friend dying, so sad for his family. Barely older than you all, especially Tadd. Live everyday as if it were your last!!!! When you are our age, when we look back it seems like the years just flew by. I wish I could remember every day with our family and live it over just one more time. Love you, miss you!
