Sickness

6 Years, 22 Weeks.


We've been fighting bouts of sickness the past several weeks, you'll remember Brae caught the bug and missed a few days of school, prompting me to catch it hard, the week before we left on our cruise.  Well, Maddy was the next in line to catch it, complaining of not feeling well and going to bed with a fever Sunday evening.

We kept her home for the next 3 days, trying to push fluids, giving over the counter meds to break her fever, and finally taking her to the pediatrician's office on Wednesday because she complained that she couldn't hear out of her left ear.  I suspected an ear infection so I made the decision to take her to the doctor to get some antibiotics.  $140 of copay later, the doctor informs me that she does not, in fact, have an ear infection.  Both her ears were "perfect" and just to continue what we were doing.  And that was that.  No prescription, no refund, nothing.  I was both disappointed and frustrated.  But I guess I had to be happy she wasn't that sick.

Here was our week:

Took Kohl out for a haircut Friday afternoon while the girls had gymnastics.

Picking up our little gymnasts.

I feel safe knowing Captain America lives with us!

A quick dip in the pool Friday afternoon.

Family bike ride early Sabbath morning.

Taking a water break.

And back on the trail again.

Exhausted!

Went on the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive after lunch.

Supper at Noodles on Sand Lake.

Monday she stayed home, not feeling well.

Although when she was on meds she was in great spirits, even helping to clean up!

Hosted Mommy's team at the house for a potluck supper Monday night.

We voted on who brought the best dish!

They enjoyed socializing outside of the work setting.

It was nice getting to know the members of Tangie's team.

Still not feeling well, we took her to the doctor's Wednesday afternoon.

At least she got some schoolwork done at home.
