Kindle-ing

6 Years, 13 Weeks.

We gifted the kids with new Amazon Kindles this week, partly as an end of the summer/back to school present, but mostly because they have done so much reading over the summer, it was much easier to download books/apps/learning games onto the devices and even borrow books straight from the library without actually having to go to the library.  Plus they'll be able to use them for school too, so they'll get lots of use.

The kids were very surprised and quite pleased with their new Kindles;  their old tablets from last year didn't have the capacity to hold as much data, plus the features were not up to par with streaming technology to date.  Even the cameras on the new Kindles are better; Braelyn's is just a notch level higher than the twins' model, hers smaller and compact but with HD quality.

Here was the rest of our week:

Helping Daddy organize the kitchen drawers.

The twins took charge of the Tupperware cabinets.

Isabella came to play for a few hours on Friday.

Attending Vespers Friday evening to see Ben Roy the Science Guy.

It was a lot of fun watching things blow up!

We were invited to the Skilton's for lunch after church.

Putting together a concert for the parents!

Sunday morning, continuing to organize the kitchen and house.

The twins working on the games collection.

Braelyn taking a break!

Picked up some things from IKEA in the afternoon.

Maddy enjoying her mango smoothie.

Couch shopping on Wednesday.

We hit the pool Wednesday evening.

Our friend Penny from NC was in town so we hooked up on Thursday!
They were so excited to see one another!

And the goofiness ensues.

Braelyn doing her thing with the dinosaur bones.

They were so sad to leave each other!

At Costco, 2 for 1 sale.

Went to Disney Springs with Mommy for supper Thursday evening.

We ate at the Fiesta Cantina.

Maddy blending in with the restaurant colors!

Enjoying a dessert gifted to us by our waiter since our food didn't come out in a timely manner.

He liked it, it seemed.

Upon arrival home.

That is a lot of Tupperware!!

Sabbath lunch dessert!

Kohl flying over New York City.

Cool afternoon treat.  Kohl dubbed me the "Best Smoothie Maker in the World!"

Um…I didn't know there was such a thing...

Blasphemy!  What is this world coming to?

Attended a meeting with the faculty at OJA on Wednesday.

Great presentation for Mommy's tortilla soup!

Quote:

  • Heading to Winter Park on Maitland, we were driving through construction and trying out the brand new road, pointing out the ramp to I-4:
Me:  "Oh look, they have the new ramp working."
Kohl:  "I want to go there!"
Me:  "But we're not going on the highway."
Kohl:  "Oh.  We're going on the low way?"

Summer playtime is almost over!!

Have a great weekend!!

  2. Be careful if you give the kids to many gadgets they will be so smart they just won't need you!! I didn't know they had something like that either. Papa
