6 Years, 11 Weeks.
We welcomed a new member to the family this week!
 |
| 2015 Toyota Sienna. |
Actually, it was short-lived.
Like, for only 4 days.
You remember last week's debacle on our windshield? Well, this week our van was in the body shop, getting a paint job fix on the scratches made when the windshield shattered during SafeLite's replacement. So they set us up with a car rental until the job was completed, from Monday morning to Thursday afternoon.
It was really nice to try out a different style and model of minivan. The kids enjoyed the new features and it made our commutes back and forth around town a little more enjoyable. We did, however, miss a couple of features that were missing, like the ability to open our garage or the gate access card to our subdivision; we had to go through and wait in line like all our guests do, and sometimes that line can get pretty long!
So, we picked up our old van Thursday afternoon, after over $600 of paint work from the shop, and over $200 in car rental fees from Enterprise. But nothing out of pocket! It was all taken care of by SafeLite, and I'll have to admit, even though it may have seemed like an inconvenience, all parties involved handled everything so well the whole process was pretty seamless. All in all, a good experience. So our van has had new brakes and parts, a new windshield, and paint job in the past 4 weeks! For free! Awesome!
Here was our week:

 |
The straw that broke the camel's back, literally. Jared snapped his entire frame after one ride and after replacing his rear axle for $30. That called for the end of the day. |
