Anticipation

5 Years, 39 Weeks.

Ugh, can this week be done already??

Getting caught up in the hype, with all that the media has to offer during Super Bowl week.  It's been enjoyable to see the programs, recaps and interviews, yet painfully uncomfortable as I continue to see how incredibly tough the Panthers are and that the odds are stacked against us to win.  I'm anticipating a loss, but somehow am trying to hold on to the thinnest strands of hope.

I guess we'll find out soon enough.  I just need to

Here was our week:

Maddy working on her Core5 homework.

Kids were out of school on Friday so we took in an afternoon matinee.

It was nice to have the whole theater to ourselves!

Hope she doesn't get used to the size!

Doing chores and eating a popsicle at the same time!

Fell asleep on Friday evening.

Waiting for Mommy at church.

Twin shenanigans.

Maddy sitting on Kohl's lap just to get a reaction.

Sometimes they can be so sweet.

Trying out a new place for lunch, The Coop in Winter Garden.

It was nice, we enjoyed it!

A relaxing afternoon lounging on hammocks in the backyard.

The entire family hanging out!

Kickball game, kids vs. parents.

Tux as a sled dog!

Brae had a basketball game against some school Saturday night.

Mommy fixing her hair before the game.

They asked me to run the clock and scoreboard, it was a lot of fun!  We lost though,  20-8.

Sunday morning ride.

Braelyn enjoying a lazy morning with Tux.

Couple more years and he'll be able to reach it no problem!

Sunday, they went dog shopping with Mommy, and fell in love with this puppy...

and this one...

and this one!

Went to the play Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing with the Cochrans Sunday afternoon.
We borrowed the book (on CD) the week before so they could hear the story before seeing the play.
I remember reading this book in elementary school and enjoyed it, so it was neat to see
my children experience the book 30 years later.

With the cast.  They really enjoyed it!

Hands full after school!

Picking up some more wood at Home Depot.

Great weather to enjoy the park.

Early morning drives to school with Mommy.

Interesting eyewear, a gift from Nana for Valentine's Day.

Shake shake shake de coconuts!

More chores, she chose to do the bathroom!

Hanging out at the park again, too big for those swings now.

I believe I can fly!

Maddy spin cycle.

Kohl enjoying learning his lesson.

Taking Tux out for evening bathroom break.

Randoms:

The kids thought they saw Tux's dad.

Kohl as a lego guy.

Pretty sweet 747 for the Broncos!

The Sheriff sporting team colors.

Enjoyed flying the Broncos flag on the fan all week!

Another ride Wednesday morning.  Need to keep it up!

Kids thought this truck looked funny without it's bed.

Maddy as a 4th grade boy.

Quote:

  • Discussing Kohden's boo-boo that he got from school:
  •
Me:  "Do we need to put Brave Soldier [antiseptic ointment] on it?"
Kohl:  "No, it doesn't even hurt!"
Maddy:  "Daddy, I know why it's called Brave Soldier."
     Me:  "Okay…"
Maddy:  "Because it makes you brave, like a soldier."

  • The twins talking about different types of food, with the topic going to hamburgers:
           Maddy:  "You mean a ham-booger?"
Kohl:  "I know what a ham-booger is made of."
           Maddy:  "What?"
Kohl:  "Two pieces of bread, ham, and a booger."
Me:  "Can we talk about something else?"
           Maddy:  "Oh, I know…poop!"

Palm to forehead.  Seriously guys!

Have a great weekend!!
