As it should be, since it is deb smack in the middle of summer break and I've got all 3 kids home from school. We did enjoy attending VBS at Markham Woods in the mornings, although we didn't enjoy having to get up super early so we could fight morning rush hour for 45 minutes en route to the church up in Longwood. But the kids really enjoyed being with friends and learning about God through the crafts, songs, and activities planned by the church. This year's theme was Everest, which coincidentally is Braelyn's favorite roller coaster at Disney. It's also ironic that the country of Nepal, where Mt. Everest is located, was rocked by 2 devastating earthquakes just weeks ago. Just a thought.
Anyways, let's see….I started a Drama Club for kids at Forest Lake Church, at the behest of our children's pastor there, so I partnered with a couple of moms several weeks back and we created a ministry group called kINd ~ kids IN drama. We had our first meeting last Friday evening, and was received very well by all the kids and parents that signed up and attended. Even Braelyn got involved with a speaking part, as she had told me that all she wanted to do was be behind the scenes. She got that from her Mommy. The twins had fun acting out the march around Jericho, walking around 7 times before playing their trumpets and yelling real loud. I hope this becomes a healthy outlet for kids, especially ours, to channel their talent and bring their "drama" out, because I don't need the drama at home!
What else…it's been hellishly hot; the hottest days of the year so far. And dry too, due to the tropical system that went over Texas. We stayed at a hotel last Thursday night with Mommy as she attended an awards banquet there for her company. We had a lot of fun enjoying the pools and lazy river, roaming around the grounds and romping on the golf course at 10 at night!
As well, we continue to stay busy getting things cleaned up and together at the house.
Oh summer!
Here was our week:
Playing with Cheddar on the turf.
They thought it would be fun to have "blankets" out on the "grass."

Helping with the groceries, getting some milk.

Checking out the "adults only" pool. They wanted so badly to jump in!
Unprompted, they all plopped down on the putting green. It made for a great picture!
We hit the gym! Gotta get them tired out!

Maddy was completely wiped out!
Day 2, the following morning, back in the pools!
We checked out at noon. Thanks Mommy for a great time!

The church provided pizza, salad, and some grapes!
Unfortunately, the strawberries and other grapes were for a memorial service
the following afternoon. Doh! I felt terrible when I found out the next week!

Randoms:
Maddy got her hair stuck in her personal fan. Sister was happy to help with scissors!
We've had a slight ant problem in the house, and even though we had the bug guy
come and spray, he insisted that I trim and remove any hedges/branches/leaves that
were touching the house to prevent a bridge for ants to use. Yay, more projects!
Found the twins' toys on the kitchen floor, all lined up and ready to fight each other!
Jeb Bush announced his candidacy for president in 2016.
Also, this guy. Really Trump?!
