Holy Mole-y!

4 Years, 29 Weeks.


You know it's been a slow week when the most exciting thing that happened to us was finding and catching a baby mole at the playground.

I had never held a mole before.  Luckily this one wasn't feisty at all.

It was very cute and soft, and the kids really wanted to keep it.  So I did some research on my phone while the kids played, and found out that moles make terrible pets.  Although their fur is super soft and velvety, their needle-sharp teeth are not.  And the musculature of their jaws is designed for rapid biting. Oh, and they leave scents to mark their territories.  And though they may be sweet-smelling to moles themselves, to humans it more or less tends to smell very foul.

Decision made.  No thanks!

Here was our week:

Halloween was Farm Day at school, so the twins went like this!

I was asked to join a group for the afternoon, and since Tangie was planning on getting off early for Halloween, she was able to pick up the kids from school, allowing me to enjoy the afternoon with the
guys while she took them trick-or-treating at a couple of Publix's.

Met up with them for dinner and Vespers program at the church afterwards.  It was nice that they provided an event for families to attend since Halloween fell on a Friday night.  It was nice not having to sit in a dark house trying to avoid all the trick-or-treaters ringing your doorbell!

They had a nice bonfire for roasting and s'mores.

A cold front was coming through, hence the cardigans!

Tired, the kids fell asleep on the ride home from lunch.

We thought it appropriate to fly some kites with all the wind,
so we headed to the field by the clubhouse.

We opted to stay in and watch a movie, Mommy's choice was "Annie",
 which the kids (and parents) thoroughly enjoyed.  It was nice to cuddle up with my girls.

Helping to clean up the house early Sunday morning.  We gained an hour overnight,
and would be cursed with the time change for the remainder of the week.

Attended the Fall Festival at Forest Lake Elementary Center around noon.

They got to paint some pumpkins,

ride a train ride with friends, 

and get their faces painted!

Probably into the night too.  And this entire week…ugh...

Cold Sunday morning.  Felt like 37º!!!  

I thought I had killed our Sea Grape tree 3 weeks ago, when her leaves started dropping rapidly.  
Boy was I thrilled to realize this week that she had started budding new leaves!!

We had mid term elections on Tuesday; Tangie and I had voted absentee the week before to
skip the lines.  While the race was very close, I'm glad we had met the winner at First Watch
a couple months ago!

2 things at Home Depot:  1) I never considered a pergola "Halloween Merchandise" and 2) the group of old ladies just sitting in the display chairs, chatting and drinking their coffees,
right in the middle of the store!

Our friends Tim and Erika Reiner had their twins Wednesday evening!
Big babies, one was 7 lbs 12 oz and the other 7 lbs 10 oz!
