Back To Work

3 Years, 39 Weeks.

Vacation is officially over.

Nana left for Denver on Tuesday, leaving us back to our regular schedules. Back to the daily grind.

It has been a whirlwind 3 weeks.  We thoroughly enjoyed having the grandparents over for the holidays, and sharing lots of love and laughter with them.

We're looking forward to next time!

Here was our week:

Dessert means frozen yogurt from RaceTrac!

Nana and her cute date!

Following Ms. Patty at Sabbath School.

Kohl enjoys the musical props.

Flowers for Mommy!

Lunch at Nana's favorite, Bahama Breeze.

With some of her favorite little people!

Taking Calleigh and Brae for a bike ride on the West Orange Trail.

The girls having fun.

Enjoying a well deserved treat from JoJo's.

Sunday morning science experiments!  Broncos would win and advance to the AFC championship to play the Patriots!

Lolo and Lala came up for lunch and to see Nana one last time before she heads back to Denver.

Enjoying their baths.

Matching from the waist up!

Putting her make up on...

Nana ready to head to the airport.

Thank you Nana!  It was fun!

Riding their bikes later that afternoon, they saw a plane in the sky and waved goodbye to Nana!

Restocking Mommy's fridge in the office.

Big sister helps with the bedtime story.

Food:

Back to salads!  Fig, pistachio, and crumbled bleu cheese.

Randoms:

Now is the best time to buy Christmas!

Speaking of Christmas, this was all on our tree.  It took a whole week to take decorations down!

Kohl's rendition of his daddy.  So that's what I look like to a 3 year old!

Anybody need tickets to...um...something?

This guy used clear packing tape to hold his trunk down and keep his package from dropping...

The moon resembling the Second Coming one evening.

Sky on fire.  Another gorgeous sunset leads to...

another glorious day!

This guy noticed my Broncos decal and honked at me, pointing to his hat.
A nice guy, actually, we chatted the whole time at the red light about the upcoming game.

Please please, let that be Play Doh...

Quotes:

  • Listening to the radio on our way to pick Brae up from school on Friday, the song "Say what you need to say" by John Mayer was on:
Maddy:  [from the backseat]  "Daddy, what is the name of this song?"
Me:  "Say what you need to say."
          Maddy:  "What?"
Me:  "Say what you need to say!"
          Maddy:  "I can't hear you!"

  • The twins taking a bubble bath one morning.  After laughing and splashing around, it all of a sudden got quiet.  Peering over, they were both intently looking at something in the water:
Me:  "What are you guys doing?"
          Maddy:  "Nothing."
Me:  "Are you listening to the bubbles?"
          Maddy:  "No."
Me:  "So what are you doing?"
          Kohl:  "Looking at my boat."
Me:  "What is your boat doing?"
          Maddy:  "Kohlden's boat is dying."

          Sinking, to be exact.

  • I was putting together the elliptical/recumbent bike exercise machine in our room and realized I had made an error in one of the assembly steps.  Seeing my mistake on the instructions:
          Me:  [gasp]  "Oh...no..."
Kohl:  "What Daddy?  What is it?"
          Me:  [in disgust]  "That...stinks!"
Kohl:  [goes to machine and smells it]  "Ugh.  Yucky."

  • Maddy and Kohl were doing crafts on some construction paper, and she approached me with some double-sided sticky tape to put on them:
Me:  "Where are you going to put this up, Maddy?"
Maddy:  [matter of factly]  "On the wall...of course!"

Have a great weekend!

  1. Oh, Nana had to go home so soon. But I was sure glad to be able to stay the extra week. Enjoyed looking at the pictures as usual. Love you all!
