And The Winner is...

2 Years, 29 Weeks.

China.

Because at the end of this week's election, the US still owes them trillion$ of dollars.

Oh well, here's to another 4 years.

Apparently, I lost Virginia's Senate seat 48% to 52% in favor of Kaine!

Voting observations:

  • In line to vote, I noticed a young woman my age who brought along a folding chair to sit on while waiting the 45 minutes or so, and I thought to myself:  "What a smart idea!" until I noticed the 80+ year old senior citizen standing immediately behind her just smiling, and showing no signs of fatigue.  That was so awesome.

  • There was a lady passing out leaflets to people in line to vote (isn't that illegal?) and asking people if they were Democrat.  The guy right behind me said to her, "Not if I can help it." to which she responded, "It's a free country and everyone has a right to vote."  As she left, the man's wife slapped his arm and scolded, "You just had to open your mouth, didn't you?" as he defended himself with, "She asked me a question!"  Too funny!

  • Florida is way behind in technology when it comes to voting and counting ballots, finally posting results 2 days after the election was decided.  I mean, they didn't even need our state's 29 electoral votes to determine who the winner was!  C'mon folks!  Way to let Ohio steal our thunder!

We did add a bit of drama at one point though!

This week was another busy week, with a little fun added in the mix.  Nana is still in town and helped me with running errands and picking up Braelyn from school in the afternoons;  meanwhile, this was week 2 of 3 of Tangie working in Pensacola, from Monday through Wednesday evening.  We also had some great weather this week, with the temperatures cooling down towards the weekend.

Maddy rides the Sabbath horse.

Nana and the grandkids outside the church for a photo op.

The boys goof off together at lunch!

Saturday night we visited Downtown Disney.  Here the kids play in the fossil dig at T-Rex.

Riding the lego dogs in Legoland at Downtown Disney.

Shopping with Nana.

We bumped into our good friends and neighbors at Costco this week!

Having fun making a choo choo train around the kitchen.

Quotes:

  • On Friday morning Tangie was taking Kohlden to a doctor's appointment after dropping Braelyn off at school, when a particular song started playing on the radio.  After the first couple of notes, Kohl piped up, "Everybody talks!"  Tangie, not completely understanding what he just said, looked down at the song information on the screen and sure enough, the song was entitled "Everybody Talks" by the group Neon Trees.  Tangie was so surprised and blown away at how quickly he recognized the song, even before the artist had begun to sing!

  • Wednesday evening when Tangie got home, Braelyn declared to her that Romney did not win the election:
Brae:  [disappointed]  "I wanted him to win!"
Tangie:  [chuckling, thinking Allen had brainwashed her while she was
                        gone] "Why is that?"
Brae: "Obama already was President.  They need to SHARE!"
Tangie:  [silently agreeing]  "Well when you are in fourth grade Obama will
                        be required to share."
Brae:  "That's a long time. Why can't he share now?"
Tangie:  "That's just the way it works."

It's a little early for civics class!

Have a great weekend!
