A Week Of Treats!

2 Years, 28 Weeks.


It's bad when you lose a credit card and don't even realize it.

It's even worse when the card gets stolen and you know who the guilty party is, as in my case, my brother Mike.

Funny story actually:  He was in town for a mere 36 hours to do a video shoot for his company this past Sunday through Tuesday morning.  As tradition calls for, every time he flies in we both go out for wings at our favorite sports bar, Gators Dockside.  We usually split the bill, and it was pretty funny when both of us produced the same exact American Express Gold cards when the check came.  Our waitress came back with our receipts and that was that.

Until Tuesday afternoon.

I got a call from him saying that he had just arrived in Ontario, California and paid his parking ticket...with my American Express!  Needless to say, the waitress at Gators switched cards on us and we didn't even bother looking at them before putting them in our wallets.  Meanwhile, we both had been making miscellaneous purchases on Monday and Tuesday with each other's cards!  So we both decided then and there to immediately go to the post office and express mail our cards back to their respective owners.  Talk about a nice $10 mistake!

Anyway, like I said, this week has been a week of treats, and not just because of Halloween.  We've had plenty of visitors at our place this week:  Uncle Mike swung by if but for a couple of hours, Lala stayed with us to help me out while Tangie was out of town to Pensacola from Monday through Wednesday, and then Nana flew in from Denver on Wednesday to spend the next couple of weeks with us!  A full and busy week for sure!

Saturday night trip to Sea World for trick or treating.  We swung by to see the polar bear.

That afternoon we attended Maddox Meidinger's birthday party.  They set up their backyard like a football field.
It's a good thing they're Denver Broncos fans!

Just hours after Nana's arrival, we had dinner at the Mahavir's before heading out to go trick or treating.

These neighbors decided to just sit on their front porch to hand their candy out.

Nana was glad to make it in time for Halloween's festivities.

Our trip to Costco was pushed back to Friday due to the American Express incident!

Nana wanted in on the picture but Kohl would have none of it.

On Thursday afternoon Tangie met with Braelyn's Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Hudak to go over the first quarter's review of her performance at school.  We are very pleased to say that she is exceeding her lessons and the class expectations thus far!  She has already mastered the required sight words and continues to work on her reading and development.  Her teacher even pointed out that she was the only one in her class to count up to 100 without any help, and that she'll have no problems passing Kindergarten!  We are extremely proud of her, to say the least!

Tangie's new car hit 27K miles this week.  :(

Ivonne Mahavir, who is in her 2nd trimester, went as a pregnant nun for Halloween, a perfect oxymoron!

          Tangie:  "We're going to need some to go boxes."

          Server [female]:  "How many would you like?"

          Tangie:  "Let's go with three."

          Server:  "Okay, I'll be back with three boxes."

          Me:  "And the check, please."

          Server:  "And the check."

          Kohlden:  "And some chocolate."

          No kidding.  He actually said that!  She brought some Andes mints with the bill.

• The kids were having their baths before bedtime and Madelyn splashed water on Braelyn's face ~  I scolded her for doing it, but Braelyn was quick to her defense, saying "It's okay.  I accept her apology."  even before Maddy could say "I'm sorry!"
