1 Year, 29 Weeks.
Okay, let's be honest with each other. Is Daylight Savings really worth the trouble? I'm not just talking about having to remember to go around the house resetting every clock and time piece, God forbid you miss one. I'm talking about the week long struggle to get the kids back to their normal sleep time and patterns.
Now I know you're not supposed to make uneducated assumptions, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here: I'm pretty sure the people who thought of this great idea of saving an extra hour of daylight didn't have any children. I'm sure of it. Otherwise they would've scrapped the idea on the first try. An extra hour of sleep? Gimme a break! Apparently my kids didn't get the memo, and are still refusing to read it. You really shouldn't be messing with a child's Circadian rhythm anyway. So all week I've been trying to bring back what I worked so hard to achieve since I started staying home with them. And then we do it all over again in 6 months. No thank you!

Okay, this week has been a blurr, probably because it was. We are excited about the kids' first real camping experience (we're talking tents here...along with inflatable mattresses!) and have been getting our supplies and gear ready all week. So, just like last week (I kinda like this!) here is a brief summary, and I mean brief, of our activites last week:
- Sabbath school: Christmas lesson already?!?
- Sabbath lunch: Crashed (last minute invitation, actually) potluck lunch at our neighbors the Ottatis.
- Sabbath dinner: Joined the Johnsons at the Cochrans' home for burgers and conversations ranging from kids to politics. Beautiful house and wonderful hospitality! Topped the evening with a movie at home: Disney's Tangled.
- Sunday morning: Attended OJA's Fall Festival (a required school day) where Brae sang up front with her Pre-K class. We enjoyed some ethnic food and the bouncy houses, but honestly it was so packed we really just spent time standing in line. I finally convinced Brae she could get some cotton candy if we could go home. Worked like a charm.
- Sunday afternoon/evening: Mike came down from a job in Jacksonville to spend a few hours with us before heading back to California the following morning. We originally had planned to play a round of golf together but the rain gods had other plans. So we just hung out, had wings, and went home to make some Vietnamese Pho for dinner and Skype session with our parents. Meanwhile, Mommy took all 3 kids to get their haircuts. Maddy did great; Kohl, not so much.
- Wednesday evening: Adventurer's. Farm honor. Nice work Duncan!
- Thursday: Brae had a follow up dentist appointment to get one of her cavities filled. She was so brave and did a great job!

Remember that video shoot Brae did a couple Sundays ago? Here is the finished product that was shown at the Florida Hospital Leadership Conference in Jacksonville last Saturday night. It was a hit! Thanks to the wonderful shooting and editing talents of J Michael Media, Braelyn is now a household name!

Here's one random Mike and I happened on when we were hanging out Sunday afternoon:
 |
| C'mon READ!!! It's true, math and reading come before success! |
Apparently I only cooked once this week!
 |
| Chicken ravioli with fresh homemade basil oil. |
- Braelyn is so excited to go camping. She was reviewing her assignments and responsibilities at the campground with Mommy:
Brae: "Mommy, while I'm doing my stuff, what are you guys going to be doing?"
Tangie: "I don't know Brae. What would you like us to do?"
Brae: "You're going to lasso a bear!"
And after we lasso a bear, then what?
- We were driving home from school, and I was asking her about her day. I am just getting over a small cold from over the weekend and my voice was exceptionally low that day.
Me: "Braelyn, what did you learn today?"
Brae: "Daddy? Why is your voice sound like that?"
Me: "You know why. Braelyn, why is Daddy's voice so low?"
Brae: "Because Jesus made it that way."
Thanks Braelyn, for confirming my manliness!

| Maddy: "What...you're taking a picture now?!? |
Have a great weekend!
Nice blog! Can't believe the children are growing so fast! Maddy is also learning to sit on the potty even when brother's foot is in it! Guys, Lolo and Lala enjoy reading the blog and looking at the pictures. It's like the highlight of the work week when we wake up on Friday morning and culminates on the Sabbath when it gets reviewed. Enjoy your camping. It's going to be a fantastic weekend! Be safe! God bless! LALA
