Madelyn - 17 lbs 6 oz
Another year gone by. We celebrated Christmas by going down to Avon Park late Friday morning. We both had the day off so made it there mid afternoon...in time to drop the kids off to the grandparents so Allen and I could do some last minute errands/christmas shopping in Sebring. So, we had a few hours to ourselves. Braelyn requested that Ate Lyka come and play with her and loved every minute of it.
We were able to celebrate Lolo's birthday Friday evening.
Zoe ended up having two seizures that evening. She has't had them in a while, so it was very strange and a helpless feeling seeing her just shake and have no control over her muscles. poor thing.
All five of us bunked up in one room for the night...can't say we've really done much of that yet, so it was kind of challenging keeping the kids quiet so they wouldn't wake up the others. Allen made a sound machine out of the TV static. Every one of them was a little fussy. Didn't help that we left Braelyn's "Marge" at home...well she left her as Marge was taken out of the bag after we packed her. There were a lot of tears shed and consoling by letting her know Marge was on the look out for Santa and was also keeping Cloe the fish company. Fussiness ran into the entire weekend for the twins with moments of cheery smiles, but then the next minute just pure crankiness. We are all trying to get rid of some colds, so I'm sure that's part of it.
Sabbath, Christmas morning we decided to skip church and lounge around a little while later in the afternoon we started preparations for the big Christmas dinner. Braelyn got to open a couple of her presents. Allen made his famous turkey by soaking it in brine over night. I made my much requested mash potatoes.
There were plenty of people to hold the babies throughout the weekend. Auntie Esther was there to assist all weekend long.
Saturday evening Allen packed up and went home while I stayed one more night so I could have assistance while Allen worked all Sunday. Lola and Auntie Es took the twins downstairs while I took care of Brae upstairs for the night. Tears still shed because we missed Marge. On Sunday, I got a little work done while the kids were hanging out with Lolo, Lola, Auntie Es and Ate Lyka.
We didn't end up getting home until 7ish. Allen worked until midnight or so - great holiday sales. When putting Brae down to bed, she said she was so glad to be home. Not bringing marge really had a toll on her. She said she would never take her out of the bag again. I think she learned her lesson...for a little while.
Nana Jane and Papa Dave came in from Denver late Tuesday night. They assisted with the midnight feeding and Papa Dave got to meet the twins for the first time. Wednesday Brae stayed off from school while I took the twins to school. She hung out with Nana and I going to the Fun Spot and the Outlets while Papa rested trying to get over his cold. The outlets were SO crowded. There is a reason I usually don't go during the holidays, but I really need some new work clothes. School called in the afternoon saying Kohlden had thrown up....that awful cough is not letting them keep their food down very well.
We got to open up the rest of our gifts when Nana and Papa were there. More pictures from the other camera at a later date.
Thursday Allen played golf with Papa, I had a plumber come to the other house...looks like we have an awful pipe leak in the floor...so...yuck to those extra expenses! We then took the twins to the Dr to see if their colds ran into other infections. Looks like Kohlden has a little bit of the eye infection Maddy did earlier. All ears look good. Zoe also went to the Vet - looks like she has epilepsy. Meds only needed if her seizures happen more regularly.
Friday I used my gift certificate from my birthday to have a massage. It was a nice treat while my parents watched the kiddos. We all ended up going to Mimi's for dinner. The twins sat at the table for the first time in high chairs. They ended up doing pretty good for our first venture out.
We called the evening early out of exhaustion....out before the ball dropped. One more year in the record books. A busy year indeed.
