Hotel

5 Years, 31 Weeks.

Our house has been like a hotel for the past month, hosting families and guests since the week before Thanksgiving.  Our front door has been a revolving one, new guests arrive just as the older ones leave. We had a few days respite in-between, but it has been very busy entertaining and making our home clean and comfortable while they stay with us!

I'm keeping this post short and simple, since the past two were both pretty lengthy and I've run out of things to say!

Here was our week:

Ready for their Christmas program last Thursday evening.

Maddy with her BFF's Penelope and Riley backstage.

The twins singing in the front row.

Braelyn and her ukelele.

Great job crew!  Mommy and I enjoyed the program!

We got to bring our stuffed animals to school on Friday.

Maddy built a palace (with some help from moi) at the Science Center.

Enjoying a cold treat!

On our annual excursion to Sea World, courtesy of the United Way through Mommy's work.

Life is sweeter under the sea.

Petting the sting rays.

Not quite tall enough to meet the ride requirement!

But someone was!  Check her out, last row!

Don't

Get

Eaten!

Hanging out on the ropes course.

Hooked up with the Grodacks and Bergherms at Gaylord Palms.

Doing the elf scavenger hunt and looking for clues.

The men folk.

Ladies too!

Back at the Science Center while Brae had basketball practice.

Learning to catch and shoot with Uncle Mike!
He was in town for a job all week and stayed with us, we had fun seeing him
and hanging around with him in the evenings.

The twins practicing their bounce passes.

Always fun times in the toy section.

Working on a card project for their teachers.

Maddy loved drawing Christmas themes!

Check-up at the dentist, Kohl plays against another boy in the waiting room.

Maddy enjoying the interactive games.  A great underwater themed mural.

Brae was content to watch the Disney channel.

View coming out from our subdivision.
Looks like a new subdivision being built from ours soon.

Beautiful pygmy owl at Sea World.  He was only 5 inches tall.

Quote:

  • Coming out of Publix, the twins saw the Salvation Army person ringing their bell:
           Them:  "Can we do that?"
Me:  "Well, I don't have any change right now."
           Maddy:  "What's that for?"
Me:  "To give money for people that don't have food to eat."
           Maddy:  [incredulous] "We GET money???"

  • At Publix at the produce section:
          Me:  "Should we get asparagus?"
          Maddy:  "Yes!"
Me:  "Oh, do you like asparagus now?"
          Maddy:  "Oh no."
          Me:  "So…you don't want asparagus."
Maddy:  "No.  I thought you said chocolate."

          Asparagus.  Chocolate.  Yeah, pretty similar…

Enjoying the light from our Christmas tree.

Have a great weekend!!

  2. Please ask each of the kids what body part they lost when the shark ate them! Great Christmas tree trimmed neatly by the hanging drapes. It must have cost a lot to get those installed! Papa
