Having A Field Day!

5 Years, 23 Weeks.

This week was chock full of school activities with the children, namely, a couple of field trips taken on Tuesday and Wednesday, plus a Home & School fundraiser event on Wednesday night.

Here are the pictures to prove it!

Exhausted.  At the Science Center Friday afternoon.

Maddy pushing over her block tower.

Running holding hands.  They play so much nicer together now that they are in separate classes.

Going on a walk while the kids ride their bikes on the West Orange Trail in Minneola.

Lunch of sushi and miso soup!

Grandparents were visiting friends and stayed the night with us,  lucky for Kohl!

We attended a birthday party for Maddox, who turned 6.

Kohlden plays goalie.

I can just imagine how they will be in high school!

Enjoying the treats and desserts!

Monday morning, dark and early, ready for another week of school!

Working on her reading homework.

She got a 100% on her states and capitals test!

Excited to head out to her Field trip on Tuesday morning.

We had never been to the Crayola Experience, a new attraction at the Florida Mall.

Happy to be with her classmates.

Boys will be boys!

They were like best buds all day.  I hope they stay like this as they grow up!

Our little monsters.

They named and labeled their own crayons.  Hers was "Elsa" and his was "Kristoff", of Frozen fame.

A kid's dream.

Enjoying her sack lunch!

Melting crayons and making them into different shaped molds.

We had fun!  Saying goodbye to friends.

Wednesday morning, accompanied Braelyn on her field trip, to the Bob Carr Center in
downtown Orlando, to hear the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.  She insisted I ride the bus with her and her classmates.

With her closest friends in 3rd Grade.

Getting a lift from friend Autumn Hickam!

Autumn's dad Richard and I were in the symphony at Southern together, so we enjoyed the concert immensely!

Starting with the National Anthem.

Some pieces even had dance performances by the Orlando City Ballet!

Afterwards enjoyed great weather as we had a picnic lunch with the rest of the school at Loch Haven Park.

Went home to change and do homework, then back out to Chuck E Cheese for supper as part of the
Home & School Association annual fundraiser.

His favorite, pineapple pizza.

She was feeling a little crazy!

Braelyn and her crew.

Tempting but NO!

Kohl's teacher Mrs. Llewellyn helps Maddy with her tickets.

She created and fashioned her very own gadget apparel!

Randoms:

At Costco he asked to get a box.  I guess he needed a helmet.

Soup selfie!

That is a lot of trophies to hand out for a birthday party!

Another milestone in the minivan.

Haven't been back to the Florida Mall since leaving Banana Republic in 2011.
I haven't missed it.

Enjoying the sunset on our drive back home on Wednesday.

Quotes:

  • Inquiring if Kohlden had fed his pet beta fish recently:
Me:  "Kohl, have you fed Felix?"
          Kohl:  "No."
Me:  "Well, do you want him to die?"
Kohl:  "No!  I don't want Lolo to eat him!"

  • Kohlden called for help from the bathroom:
          Kohl:  "Daddy, I need help!"
Me:  "Okay, I'll be right there."
          Kohl:  "Hurry up slow poke!"
Me:  "Hey, that's not how you talk to me!"
          Kohl:  "Please?"

Like father, like son.

Have a great weekend!!
