29 Years Old.

5 Years, 20 Weeks.

And then...add another 10 years to that number.

*Sigh*

Celebrated the start to another year of life this week!

It's daunting to watch time speed by so quickly, especially when you thought they dragged on forever.

And now, I'm that much closer to 40.

*Sigh*

But not yet.

Here was our week:

Braelyn reciting her speech about Lala for Lala.
The grandparents came up to spend the weekend with us.

The twin sharing their numbers and colors poems with Lolo.

Best part of Friday evenings when Lala comes to visit!

All relaxed, watching VBS music videos on YouTube after their massages.

Maddy showing Lolo how she makes lemonade for Sabbath lunch.

Playing a tossing game with the older cousins, who came to visit as well!

This moved on to the backyard, and the balls switched to water balloons.

Parents' night out:  with the Clarke's to celebrate both Marlissa and my birthday.

Hamilton Kitchen at the Alfond Inn in Winter Park.  Amazing and eclectic.

We dined al fresco, and enjoy the lights, food, and company.

Early Sunday morning, the kids gather up things they wanted to sell

for our community garage sale!  We needed to get rid of 3 cribs/toddler beds and a dresser!

Seeking shade in the garage, but the humidity was stifling.
I think we made a total of $5.  None of the big things sold.  :(

We rode our bikes to the clubhouse to take in the pool that afternoon.

The water was actually chilly at first, but then they got over it and had a blast.

Buddy making his lunch:  PB&J.

Tuxedo learning the Roll Over trick with our trainer Illeana.

Just in time for Halloween!

Monday morning, back to school.  Saying goodbye to Tux.

Tangie was in Pensacola Monday and Tuesday so I pulled double duty for drop-off and pick-up.

Ready to decorate for Fall!

Our version of "Elf on the shelf".

Blowing balloons while her siblings learn the "Whip Nae Nae" dance.

Pesto noodles for supper!

Balloon war before bedtime.

So how was school today??

Nothing an ice cream cone can't fix!

The walls at this place had chalkboard paint.  They wanted to write and draw!

Practicing her cursive.

Birthday morning, Tangie took me out for 9 holes.

Gorgeous playing weather, we had a great time.

Getting a FaceTime birthday greeting from my two boys in California.

Singing happy birthday to daddy at pick-up!

Braelyn made me a card and had her entire class sign it!

Excited to open up this jackfruit from the grandparents!
Alas, it wasn't ready and we had to wait another day for it to ripen,
but it was very tasty!!

The evening was nice and cool enough for us to enjoy supper under the pergola!

Jackfruit treat after school!

Super yummy, someone's very excited.

Showing me their breath inside the large fridge at Costco.

Sampling of our entrees at Hamilton's Kitchen!

Vivid and gorgeous sunrise on our way to school in the mornings.

Blending in with their surroundings.

I guess I should check my notifications on Facebook!

Because she already is a DRAMA QUEEN!

Quotes:

  • Driving to school on Monday morning, the kids were talking about what I wanted to do for my upcoming birthday:
Brae:  "What would you like to do for your birthday Daddy?"
          Me:  "Go on a cruise?"
Brae:  "Yeah, well that's not going to happen."

          Shoot.

  • Kohlden was drinking his milk before bedtime, taking his sweet time, slurping and sipping it.  I started getting a little impatient:
Me:  "Hey, can you please hurry up?"
Kohl:  [looks me right in the eye and says matter-of-factly]
                     "I'm enjoying it."

Enjoying my new hammock chair, a birthday gift from Papa and Nana!

Have a great week!

Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

5 Years, 19 Weeks.

No, I'm not talking about the holidays, although it comes a close second.

I'm talking about…football season!

So excited.  So.  Excited!

But it hasn't been all peaches and roses.  This is a totally different team from the one we have gotten used to over the past 3 years.  Brand new leadership with new head coach Gary Kubiak and new coordinators on both offense and defense.  The offense looks very shaky with Kubiak's game scheme, while the defense is outstanding and tough this year.  Peyton has started out the year struggling, showing his age and some weakness in his throws.

And yet, amid all of the struggles and doubt with this new Broncos team, we have already played 2 brutally tough games in a span of 5 days and emerged winners in both nail biters.  Starting the season 2-0 with how we've been playing is a miracle and I'll take it!  But as Papa Dave told me, we want them to be peaking come playoffs, and not the other way around.  As long as Manning is at the helm, I'm sure everything will be okay.

Eat your heart out Brady, we're coming for you!

Go Broncos!!

Here was our week:

Maddy had Crazy Hair Day on Friday!

Happy to be off for the weekend!

Getting supplies and playing with some at the Home Depot.

Having some snack en route to church Sabbath morning.

Kohl was the teacher's helper!

Lunch with the Jamersons at Positano's, the 'lyns pose together.

Mommy and Brae planning and prepping her "Big Kids Party" for that evening, kids 8 and up only.

She had a great time with her friends and classmates at the house!

Which meant Daddy/twins date to EPCOT!

Touching the dolphins,

and getting eaten by sharks!

What's a little rain to stop us when you've got ponchos?
Actually, it was a pretty substantial monsoon!

Luckily there was food where we were!

They enjoyed trying on hats!

Mommy trying to get her daily steps in with the help of the Wii, and some onlookers!

Braelyn staying still doing yoga.

Tux and his friend Scarlett at obedience school.

The Reeves were in town so we had them and the Grodacks over for food and football on Sunday.

The bigger kids hanging out in the Fox Den.

It was Jake's birthday so we celebrated with a cake.

He loved petting Tux, and Tux loved him for it!

Pickup from school.

Doing research on the state of Maine.

Lovin' on Tux.

I wonder what they talk about.

Working on dog training, prepping rewards for "Treats from Heaven" command.

Working on some tracing stencils.

Pickup from school.

Sharing lessons with Mommy during supper.

Growing up and getting longer!

Food:

We were given some figs from the Jamersons' fig tree, so I made

Fig and Arugula with crumbled Bleu on toasted Baguette with Honey drizzle!

Randoms:

This person decided to drive her motorized wheelchair ON THE ROAD in front of me!

Kohl decided to take Mommy out for a spin in the minivan!

Can you imagine Maddy with that kind of hair??

The Broncos Bin is out!!

Wow.  Just wow.

Broncos sunset, after their win Sunday afternoon!

Quotes:

  • Sabbath morning, I was checking the forecast on the Weather Channel app on my phone:
Maddy:  "Daddy, what are you doing?"
          Me:  "Looking at the weather."
Maddy:  "Well…" [opening  up the blinds in our bedroom]
"You can just look outside and see the weather!"

          Good point!

  • Kohlden and Braelyn were talking about her homework on states:
Brae:  "Tomorrow I'm going to learn about New Hampshire."
Kohl:  "I know what that is."
          Brae:  "No you don't."
          Kohl:  "Yeah, it's a hamster."

          Um…

  • Braelyn was showing me some pictures from one of her flyers from school:
          Kohl:  "Who's that?"
          Brae:  "That?  That's God."
Kohl:  "Scott?  Like Scott McKenzie?" (Local radio personality
                     that had recently passed away)
          Brae:  "No…God."
          Kohl:  "Oh…you mean Jesus."

The world on her shoulders!

Have a great weekend!!
