Another year has come and gone, and Braelyn is another year older!
*sigh*
It seems like only yesterday when Tangie told me she was starting to have big contractions and that we needed to make our way to the hospital. That was a night I'll never forget. The night when she was born.
When she made us parents.
Now she is halfway to getting her own driver's license. How can this be? I was rocking this tiny thing to sleep on my shoulder one minute, now she's doing one-handed round offs in the front yard!
I can see what they mean when people say, "They grow up so fast."
Because they truly do.
Slow down and stop growing so fast kiddo!
Happy Birthday Braelyn! We love you and are so proud of you!
With some roses she received for her birthday that morning,
she ended up taking them to class with her!
Here was our week:
Friday morning line-up. Can you see both sets of twins?
She wanted to convert all the coins she had been saving...
So she could just have cold hard cash!
Spent the afternoon working at Barnes & Noble, while she read books
and shared some jokes with me.
We went to EPCOT for supper that evening.
Participating in a sand art craft.
Playing around in the nice artificial turfed playground.
Zonked. Upon arrival home.
Attended Ocoee's annual Spring Fling, our 7th since moving here.
Got to ride on some of Ocoee's finest's motorcycles.
Brae got to check out inside a fire truck.
The whole family went on a bike ride later that afternoon.
Mommy did a good job keeping up with us!
At the clubhouse we encountered a local monkey!
Foggy start to our commute to Hollywood Studios to celebrate Braelyn's birthday that morning.
Gathering at the restaurant for her character breakfast.
Greeting Aunt Marlissa and Isabella as they join us.
All you can eat breakfast buffet. She loved the Mickey Mouse shaped waffles!
Who wouldn't be excited to have breakfast with a pirate?
Or Handy Manny?
The group photo. The Clarke, Ellis, and Jica families.
Attended a drawing class where you can learn how to draw some Disney characters.
The girls show the results! Kohl was none too happy with how his turned out,
hence his absence from the photo.
The group all sits together for the Frozen sing-a-long.
Braelyn attempting to carry my backpack for me. It lasted less than a minute.
Ah-ten-hut! With the plastic army guy from Toy Story.
We didn't have a cake so we treated everyone to some ice cream!
Leaving the park, tired, hot and hungry, but all smiles.
We swung by our Oriental restaurant for supper.
The birthday girl wanted sushi, so she got sushi!
The twins and I brought some cupcakes to celebrate with Braelyn's class.
Braelyn's teacher Miss MacNeill gives out last minute instructions before dismissal.
It was nice to let her have the twins sit in with the rest of the class.
FaceTime with Uncle Mike to wish each other Happy Birthday, as is their annual tradition!
Writing and sending out thank you cards for her birthday presents!
Buddy has really gotten into drawing, specifically mermaids.
Madelyn playing with Queen Elsa.
Mid-week treat to Scoops!
Rearranged their bedrooms around. The twins were happy with their new bed layout.
Visited the Science Center after school on Thursday.
They had a lot of fun building and creating whatever this was.
Randoms:
Always so sad to see handicapped plants.
Not even at the summer months, and we're already feeling the scorching heat!
At least a 5 footer, in the retention pond one over from ours.
Another random person asleep at Disney.
We were wondering who signed Tangie's chest!
KIDS!!!!
Tangie was able to attend the first round of play at the
Bay Hill Invitational with her team on Thursday!
Quotes:
I had cooked some cauliflower that I had mixed with some Indian coconut curry sauce. Madelyn took one look at it and said, "That looks like throw up...but it's not."
The kids had just seen Disney's Planes Fire Rescue movie, and were discussing the scene where a couple of cars were stuck on a burning bridge, they having gone there because that's where they shared their first kiss:
Maddy: "Daddy, where did you have your first kiss?"
Me: [taken aback] "First kiss? With Mommy, or with someone else?"
Maddy: "With Mommy."
Me: "In her apartment."
Kohlden: "How 'bout your second kiss?"
Me: "I don't remember. I've kissed Mommy many, many times."
Kohlden: "Even when she was afraid?"
Especially when she was afraid! ;)
Talking with Kohl about growing up:
Kohl: "Daddy, when I'm 81, I'll be adult."
Me: "Okay..."
Kohl: "Daddy, how old are you when I'm 81?"
Me: "Um...I'll be 115."
Kohl: "Oh. You're going to be dead."
Oh, to be 8 again!!! I really enjoyed looking at the birthday week. I was so sad to miss it. Love, Nana
