20 Years!

4 Years, 49 Weeks.

This past weekend was my 20th high school reunion at Forest Lake Academy.  I cannot believe it's been 20 years!

My, my, how time has flown by.

We only had 29 of the 125 students in our class show up, but it was nice just seeing and catching up with one another and their families.  The group was small and intimate, but it made for making the weekend events a little more manageable.

It was interesting to see how we all had changed since we last saw each other on our 10th year reunion.  Some good, some bad, but mostly good.

And still crazy!

It was a great weekend and I hope to attend it again in another 10 years!

Anyway, the twins are on Spring Break and Tangie is in Dallas for 4 days so I'm flying solo.

Here was our week:

Last day of school before Spring Break!

Brae working on her team routine.

Just watching all the girls.

With Cheryl and Jackie.  These two organized the class events for our reunion.

Selfie from the podium.  I spoke, representing the class of 1995.  I encouraged everyone to live
in the now and capture the moments, hence why I took a picture right up on stage.

We had 6 show up for the Friday program!

Sabbath breakfast with Mommy, before heading to church.

Met up with great friends Joe and Monica.

The gym was packed.  My view from an impromptu choir reunion performance on stage.

Some of the recruits from my class that I brought up with me.

Same group, different camera.

More people showed up for service.

Met up at Riverbend Park for Sabbath lunch.

It was great catching up with everyone over haystacks.

The next generation!

Everyone really happy to see one another.

Cousin Patrick and Jenice came over with Juliana to help watch the kids while the Mrs. and I

went to the class party at Alaqua Lakes.  The disco duck paid a small visit.

With the Foleys.  Met Joe's wife Margaret for the first time,
even though we've been sending Christmas cards to each other for several years!

Photo of the entire group, along with the spouses/significant others that attended.

Getting a little goofy with the guys.

A good one with Tangie.

She was able to meet and make friends with some of the wives there.

Parting shot with Malcolm and Jackie.

Helping big sister with the weekly cage clean up.

Nice and warm enough for a dip in the pool!

Even the Grodacks came and joined us for a bit.

Spent the afternoon with a trip to Barnes & Noble for reading and a treat!

A soggy morning on Monday, participated in FLA's annual alumni golf tournament.

It was at Redtail Golf Club in Sorrento, one I had never played on but always wanted to.  A beautiful course.

Overcast and very cloudy,

the umbrellas came out soon thereafter.

The ground was so saturated!

Took the twins to Animal Kingdom for a few hours on Tuesday morning.

They met Pocahontas!!

One of their favorites is brushing the farm animals.

They had a grand time.

Maddy helping to make fresh guacamole, even though she can't stand eating it.

Drawing Cinderella before going to bed.

The twins practice their biking.

Kohl helps sand down an old desk we picked up for Brae.

Took them to Hollywood Studios for a few hours Wednesday evening after school.

We had [a not so healthy] supper there.

FaceTime with Mommy in Dallas.  Still light over there, with a one hour difference.

Upon arrival home.

Picnic and movie in the living room.  Spring Break is awesome!!

Randoms:

Maddy as Princess Anna!

A 20 year comparison.  We were missing Casey, who lives in Geneva, Switzerland.

Photo with Misty Graham, who ironically was my "wife" and duet partner for our Senior weddings,
shown on the TV screen behind us!

How Buddy keeps his shirt from getting wet!

Maddy and I drew Cinderella.  She wanted to do the face….um…does Cinderella need to visit the dentist?

Photo bombed a couple of girls on the tram at Hollywood Studios.
They thought it was hilarious and were nice enough to share the photo!

4 squad cars at the residence 3 houses down from us.  Apparently an altercation
between two brothers that involved drugs and one of them leaving in handcuffs.  Nice.

Taking Braelyn to school early in the mornings, we encounter this glorious view of the sunrise!

Quotes:

  • Driving home from Forest Lake Academy:
Kohl:  "Daddy, I know how to spell OJA."
          Me:  "Okay, spell it."
          Kohl:  "O.  J.  & A."
Me:  "Excellent!  Can you spell the name of the school that
                   Daddy went to?"
          Kohl:  "What's that?"
          Me:  "FLA."
          Braelyn:  "F.  L.  A!"
Me:  "Do you know what that stands for?"
Braelyn:  "I know.  It stands for Florida Landvertary Adventures."

  • Heading to Animal Kingdom, driving and trying to merge with the other cars, I sped up a little bit:
Maddy:  "Daddy, why are you speeding?"
Me:  "So I can catch up with everybody."
Kohl:  "Daddy, don't speed, or the police will get you."
Me:  [chuckling, gunning the gas pedal a little.]
Kohl:  [freaking out]  "YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL!!!"

  • Going over Braelyn's spelling words homework for school, one of the words was "cloud":
Brae:  "Can you put that in a sentence please?"
Me:  "The fog is like a cloud in the ground."
           Brae:  "ON the ground."

           I stand corrected.

  • Telling the twins to get ready to pick go pick up Braelyn from school, to go potty before we leave.  Madelyn goes first.
Maddy:  [from the bathroom]  "C'mon Kohlden.  Go potty."
Kohl:  [from the other room]  "But you're on the toilet."
          Maddy:  "No I'm not."

[He walks to the bathroom to find out she is indeed sitting on the toilet.]

          Kohl:  "You lied to me!"
          Maddy:  "No I didn't.  I was buffaloing."

I believe the word is "bluffing!"

Have a great week!
