4 Years, 21 Weeks.
We had brunch with Florida's Governor, Rick Scott, this past Sunday morning.
Not really, but we did get a chance to meet and take some pictures with him.
 |
| Telling the Governor how old they are. |
 |
| The youngest members of the Scott campaign. |
He was en route to some rally as he is campaigning for a second term, and decided to stop and have breakfast at First Watch in Winter Garden Village. And, as coincidence would have it, we also decided to go have brunch there with the Grodacks and the Reeves family, who were in town that weekend from Calhoun, Georgia.
We saw his bus parked outside the restaurant, and watched him meet and shake hands with several other people eating while we waited for our table. Tangie told Braelyn to draw a picture for Mr. Scott, and I used that as an excuse to tell his aide that the kids wanted to meet the governor, which we did. He was very gracious and friendly, and shook every kid's hand when he met them. His personal photographer was there to take some great pictures of him with all the kids, and even took some for us on our phones. It was such a nice treat and surprise, and opportunity to rub elbows with a politician!

Quotes:
- We were watching a video of a guy snorkeling on YouTube, the picture showing a sunken helicopter on the bottom of the reef:
Braelyn: "Look, it's got allergy on it!"
I think the word you're looking for is algae. Just sayin'.
- Maddy and Kohl were playing downstairs when Maddy had to go get something upstairs. They kept communicating but couldn't quite hear each other:
Kohl: [asked her something]
Maddy: "I can't hear you!"
Kohl: "Ok, I'll text you!"
- The twins were discussing playing Mexican Dominoes with Lolo and Lala when they came up over the weekend:
Kohl: "I have an idea. We can play boys against the girls."
Maddy: "But there are three girls."
Kohl: "That's okay."
Maddy: "But Mommy's on a diet!"
Okay…?
- Driving to school one morning, Braelyn spotted a heavily wooded vacant lot with a sale sign on it:
Brae: "This forest is for sale??"
Mommy: "You want to buy it?"
Brae: "We could make a cool tree fort in there, but…there would
be snakes!"
 |
| Or bears! |
