4 Years, 17 Weeks.
I can't believe I survived another summer with all 3 kids!
The past 3 months have flown by, with all the trips, excursions, projects, swim lessons, and fun activities we've involved ourselves in over the summer break.
This week Braelyn began another school year and started 2nd Grade! She was so excited to see all of her classmates and meet her new teacher Ms. MacNeill. Now we go back to having a schedule, with homework and memory verses and mid day trips to pick up big sister!
Congrats Braelyn! Have a great school year!!
With Braelyn gone back to school the house was a bit quieter, but the twins continued to keep themselves busy. Here was our week:
 |
| Spent the last weekend of summer break in Daytona Beach. |

We stayed at the Acapulco Hotel and Resort. It was very old, and it showed.
I don't think we'll ever stay there again. |

 |

House Project:
So…I was tired of cleaning up after the kids when they used ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to make their "forts." Wondering what was behind the drywall underneath our staircase, and using a little creativity along with some building supplies from Lowe's, I created 32 square feet of usable space and made them a hideaway nook! I'm hoping this "fort" will deter them from leaving messes around the house.
Cross my fingers!
 |
| The drywall inside the butler closet. I knew there was some empty space behind it! |
 |
| After cutting a hole in the drywall, revealed trash and leftover scraps left by the builders. Gross! |
 |
| The kids inspect while picking up new drywall for the inside compartment. |
 |
| Braelyn assisting me with plaster to seal the drywall sections together. |
 |
| The final product: The Fox Den! |
Randoms:
 |
| Beautiful Psalm…on a beautiful car! |
 |
| The suspect escaped in a bright teal car… Wow, what a color. |
 |
| Speaking of color, another glorious Florida sunset! |
Quote:
- A couple weeks back, we were talking about letting our pet frogs go back into the wild so that they could live. Braelyn agreed, saying, "Yeah, we don't want to kill anymore of Mother's Nature nature…"
- We were discussing the twins going to school and visiting their classroom in preparation for the school year:
Braelyn: "What's their teacher's name?"
Mommy: "Hmmm…I don't know."
Me: "Um, what about…Mrs. Smith?"
Maddy: "It's not Mrs. Sniff!"
- We had arrived at the Ottatis for their pool party, but held off getting the kids into their swimsuits because of thunderstorms ahead. As it started to rain we decided we weren't going to swim at all, which made the kids very disappointed and visibly upset. Then the rain subsided and we changed our minds, so I set outside to go to the van:
Braelyn: "Where are you going Daddy?"
Me: "To the van, to get your swimsuits."
Brae: "Why?"
Me: "Because it stopped raining."
Brae: "I know why. Because I prayed."
Wow. Talk about persuasion!
- Maddy and I were watching the final round of the PGA Championship last Sunday, seeing Phil Mickelson sink a putt:
Maddy: "Is that our team?"
Me: "No, but that's Mommy's favorite player."
Maddy: "Why?"
Me: "Because he's a lefty. They call him Lefty."
Maddy: "Did he left things?"

| Can you tell who's the clown? |

I want to play in The Fox Den---What a great idea for some more space. It's my new room when I come over. Love Nana
