3 Years, 46 Weeks.
I don't know if you would necessarily call it a "break" (at least for me it wasn't!), although Braelyn didn't have to attend school at all this past week.
It's been non-stop action, including a short 2 night stay at Lolo and Lala's in Avon Park.
Hopefully we'll be able to catch up on some rest over the weekend. But chances are, probably not.
Here was our week:
| School out at noon last Friday. Happy to be on vacation! |
Picking up some supplies in Walmart, happened on some Frozen paraphernalia.
They are into all things Frozen...including pizza. |
| Maddy content to plop down anywhere and read. |
We had the Grodacks over to meet our new neighbors, the Neumans,
who moved in 3 houses up, this past December.
A very nice family, they have 6 kids ages 10 to 1.5. A nice addition to our neighborhood friends. |
| Duncan mans the fire pit swarming with kids; the adults were outnumbered 6:13 |
| The other parents scrambling to prepare plates of food for their hungry broods! |
Braelyn chatting with new friends Faith and Grace.
If you couldn't tell by those names, the Neumans are devout Christians! |
| Kohl and Mommy all smiles at Sabbath School. |
| Maddy reaches for Alexa to complete the prayer circle. |
| Everyone in good spirits. |
| Calleigh and Brae finish their coloring project at their SS class. |
| Ahh!!! Sweet Tomatoes!!! |
| Took the girls out for a bike ride after riding 20 miles myself. |
| These girls always hamming it up together. |
| Nothing has changed... |
| with these two from 5 years ago! Well, except maybe their cheeks... |
| We were invited to supper at the Grodacks |
| along with the Ottatis. It was great to catch up with everyone! Thanks for the hospitality Corey! |
| Bright and early Sunday morning, Duncan picked me up for a grueling bike ride |
| into the hills of Clermont, |
| including the notorious Sugarloaf Mountain. |
| 35 miles later and still smiling! |
| Took the kids to the Winter Garden splash park in the afternoon. |
| Maddy fashioning her cute two piece. |
Look who showed up too! Actually, it was their idea and we invited ourselves,
thank you very much! |
| A break from play for a quick photo for Daddy. |
| Maddy all done, the water was still a tad bit chilly! |
| Anticipating their frozen yogurt treat. |
| Nothing like cooling off with fro-yo in the 80ยบ weather! |
| Enjoying some quality time with my eldest. |
| A visit to a park in Lake Minneola, which Duncan and I saw on our bike ride the previous day. |
| Brae working on her bouldering skills. |
| A very nice day, we had lunch outside at Winter Garden Pizza. |
| All packed up and ready for a mini trip to the grandparents! |
| Maddy getting herself settled in. |
| Braelyn already working on some art projects. |
I accompanied Lala to visit Grandma Isidro at the nursing home, recovering from her stroke.
She has been suffering from diabetes and dementia for several years now, and doesn't recognize us.
Still, it was comforting to see how tender loving and caring my mom was to her mother-in-law, as she
visits and assists with feeding her dinner every evening. The true definition of caregiver. |
| It was great to have the chance to visit and spend some time with her. |
| With my young cousin Lyka and Grandpa Isidro. |
| We brought our sleeping bags... |
| but they weren't utilized very well... |
| Okay, so where am I going to sleep now?? |
| Watching Sesame Street while I installed some curtain rods for Lala. |
| A quick trip to Sebring to the bike shop... |
| where I had Brae test out some bikes to see what her next one would be for her upcoming birthday. |
| Brae came to assist Lala and I with Grandma Isidro that afternoon. |
| The whole Isidro clan in attendance. |
| Buddies. Kohl with his great-grandfather. |
| Brae working on some homework while in Avon Park. |
We visited a working farm, amidst the rain.
We also purchased 2 dozen eggs from free-range chickens collected that morning! |
| Petting a baby goat. |
| Mommy surprised the kids by meeting us for dinner at Tijuana Flats! |
Randoms:
| My stats from Sunday's epic ride. I could've eaten anything that day, whew! |
An email from a "friend"; apparently I was his "last resort and hope"...PLEASE!
Talk about scam artists! |
| Lovely sunsets this time of year. |
| Just in case you need any of these 4 things, you can find them together at this place... |
Tangie taking old and out-grown things, including our twin stroller, to the
Just Between Friends consignment event happening this weekend. |
Quotes:
- At Sabbath School, reciting the memory verse:
Maddy: "Love each other."
Kohl: "Love ea...chother."
- Driving back home from Avon Park, Taylor Swift's song 22 came on, and on the part she talks about "too many cool kids", Kohlden quipped, "Daddy, I'm a cool kid, right?"
| Yes, you are so very cool Buddy! |
Have a great weekend!
Oh come on Allen. The REAL scam artist is you. I know you just wanted to post that email so we could see that it was to the "Most Amazing Daddy and Hottest Husband I Know...."
ReplyDeleteLoved the throwback picture of the girls!
Great job finding the 5year old matching picture!! And your are right just the shape of their faces have changed but not their picture posing. Tell Kohlden that Papa thinks he is really really cool!
ReplyDeleteAllen, I didn't know about your grandma Isidro. Will she be able to recover from the stroke. Your Mom is a jewel and a great caregiver. I hope she's around if I need some care????Love you guys and we are really missing you all. I was with you last year at this time. So sad I can't be with you for the birthdays this year. Love, Nana
