It is with great sadness that I make this announcement:
Summer vacation is officially OVER!
How fast did THAT fly? Goodness gracious!
So much to do, so much to look forward to...poof! All done!
And with that, Braelyn enters her first year of elementary school. I can't believe she's in First Grade. I know I said the same thing around the same time last year when she was entering Kindergarten, but still! Too fast, TOO FAST!!!
As usual she was very excited to see her friends again and her new classroom and teacher. We were told that she was going to go through a big transition from her learnings last year, so we can't wait to see what knowledge she'll blow us away with when she gets home each day.
Good luck Brae! We are so very proud of you!

Here was our week:
- Friday was a catch up day after getting back from Redington Beach. I mowed the lawn and had laundry running while Tangie took the kids to a movie and then school supply shopping. That evening we had our good friend Elisa Brown over for supper, along with the rest of the old DEEPER crew, the Clarkes and Shepherds, and Mike. Elisa was in town from Loma Linda to attend a convention and had a few hours to swing by and visit with us. It was great to catch up with her and everyone, on her travels and her [upcoming] new adventure (hint, hint).
- Sabbath we attended church and then had Indian (food, not an actual person) for lunch. Overdue naps were required and then Mike and the Clarkes came back over for some chit chat and dessert. Mike and I hung out for dinner afterwards.
- Sunday morning I went over to help Karis move their old play set to their new house, except that he decided to just leave it since it was old and already showing some wear and tear on the wooden bases. So instead we just moved their office desk and entertainment center. Meanwhile, Tangie took the kids to the pool and then we all headed over to OJA for registration that afternoon, she flying out to Chicago later that evening for an audit there this whole entire week.

Quotes:
- While shopping with the kids on Friday, Tangie had Kohlden stand in front of the store to get his picture taken with the store's name:
Maddy: "Mommy, where's my store?"
- We were on our way to pick Braelyn up from school, and Kohlden was trying to tell Madelyn something in the back of the van:
Kohl: "...[something unintelligible]..."
Maddy: "What?"
Kohl: "...[repeats himself, still unintelligible]..."
Maddy: "What??"
Kohl: [exasperated] "I already told you!!"
- They were taking their sweet time having dinner, and I was telling the kids to hurry up and finish their food:
Brae: "But Daddy! The asparagus is slowing me down!!"
- During their shower one evening, Kohl decided to use the water spray and pointed it at his tenders:
Me: "Buddy, what are you doing??"
Kohl: [looks at me and laughs]
Maddy: "It's swinging."
Brae: "What's swinging?"
Maddy: "His bottom."
Great. Just great.
Kohl: [looks at me and laughs]
Maddy: "It's swinging."
Brae: "What's swinging?"
Maddy: "His bottom."
Great. Just great.

Have a great weekend!

Tell Brae that I like the look of her redone room. The keep-out sign on the door is great. But is it working? Let me know. Love Nana
ReplyDeleteI agree, slow them down they are growing to fast. Tell Kohl that Papa can't understand Nana most of the time so don't worry if Maddy can't understand him its a guy and girl thing.
