3 for 2!

Exactly 3 Years, To The Day.

Kohl:  30.0 lb  (50%)  36.75 inches (30%)
Maddy:  29.0 lb  (49%)  36.5 inches (50%)

I always get nostalgic this time of the year.  Especially when it comes to the dates when our children were born.

Today I would like to officially wish a very Happy Birthday to our beautiful twins, Kohlden and Madelyn.

Who knew how much love, fun, laughter, work, tears, and lack of sleep we would encounter over these past 3 years!

Thank you for giving us so much joy in our lives!!

Here are the highlights:

  • Sabbath we attended a small, intimate baby dedication service and picnic for the Whitaker triplets at a park in Heathrow, near Lake Mary.  It was wonderful to see everyone and share in the celebration.  Afterwards we jetted back to Forest Lake Church to attend Braelyn's Investiture service for Adventurer's.

Friday evening dinner with the crew at Cracker Barrel.

The kids always enjoy the rocking chairs.

Getting ready for the service and picnic at the pavilion.

The Whitaker triplets held by their parents and grandmother.

Prayer for the family.

Enjoying the tire swing at the nearby playground.

Maddy hams it up on the balcony.

Calleigh and Braelyn in dress uniform.

About to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Calleigh can hardly contain some giggles.

Excited with getting her trophy!

Proud moment for Daddy Duncan.

The two girls show off their trophies.

The Bergherm boys joined them as well.

A quick stop for a frozen yogurt treat.

Duncan and I took the kids to the pool.

The water was still a tad chilly but the kids didn't seem to mind!

The girls finish off at the playground.
  • Sunday morning after breakfast we moseyed down to Winter Garden for their annual Spring Fever in the Garden festival.  We really enjoy it each year, seeing all the vendors and people selling their products and crafts, getting a bunch of free knick knacks and plants, and the kids' activities area.  Afterwards we drove down to Disney to do some resort hopping with some friends on a family vacation from Boston.  We had met them on a Royal Caribbean cruise from San Juan, Puerto Rico 5 years ago, when Brae was just 6 months old.  We hit it off and hung out with them and their 2 kids at the time.  We kept in touch and then they had triplets a year before we had the twins, and so we continued our correspondence through Facebook and Christmas cards.  It was great to see them and catch up, and it was pretty funny how we were completely outnumbered by the kids when we got them together!

Brae took this shot of Kohl in his shades.

Mommy walks the team through the Festival.

Enjoying the bouncy houses immensely!

Braelyn handles a mouse for her sister to see.

The girls enjoyed petting the soft bunnies...

While Kohl enjoyed a freshly squeezed $5 lemonade!

Making sure Maddy had some before Kohlden finished it all, which he did!

A reunion with the Bariteau's at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Granted, 5 of the 8 had never met each other before!

Playing footsies with Ashley.

Riding in a shuttle bus, heading to Downtown Disney.

Maddy loves her Minnie!

"I can reach it!"

Great to see these guys!  With Andy and Christine Bariteau.

Pooped x 3.

  • The rest of the week in pictures:

Can you look any cooler during snack time?

I don't know why he preferred to sit on a plastic chair rather than the sofa...

Picking up some watering cans for the garden.

Food usually means smiles all around.

A quick stop to the playground to meet up with some friends before bedtime.

Best of friends!

His pajamas says it all.

They love to help out in the garden!

Kohl getting set up to be filmed by Uncle Mike and Uncle Jared.
He was in town from California for some video shoots this week.
They also filmed the Grodacks and Ottatis for their projects.

Bedtime shenanigans.

Costco:  First smiles...

Then tired...

And then smiles again!

At the doctor's for their 3rd year check ups.  Can you guess who's going to be the class clown?

Talking with Dr. Gordon as he fills their charts.
They would have their Hepatitis A shot during this visit, and no tears were shed.  So brave!

Mike and Jared using our driveway and garage to film our neighbors, the Ottatis...

While I had babysitting duties inside!  Thanks goodness for Dora the Explorer!

Kohlden helping Daddy mow the lawn.

Blowing out their candles for their birthday.  The real cake will come on their birthday bash on Sunday.

Playing with a new tea set Mommy got for them.

Garden Update:

Starting to have green in each area!

2nd tier, day 14

Time lapse:  Radishes in 1 week.

Food:

Artichoke bites on Arugula and Cucumber.

Randoms:

I was messaging Corey letting her know we were heading to the festival.
Siri heard it wrong.

Whoa.

The van packed with our stuff to head to consignment!

Lots and lots of stuff, never to be seen again!

You could go in so many directions with this one...

He prefers older blondes.  That's my boy!

Summer is here.  And with passing thunderstorms too.

Spotted this Peter Rabbit just feet away from the garden!

Quotes:

  • Twins' favorite sayings:
          Kohl:  "No, I do it!"
          Maddy:  "I do it myself."

  • Driving to school one morning, Braelyn overheard the news on the radio about a tornado that had killed 3 people in Mississippi:
          Brae:  "Who is Mrs. Hippy?"
Mommy:  "Mississippi.  It's a state, like Florida."
Brae:  "Why did they kill Mississippi?"

  • They were all sitting down for supper, goofing off and not eating at all:
Me:  "Kohlden.  Eat all your food!"
           Kohl:  "Okay."
           Maddy:  "Me too, Madelyn!"

That's right, keep telling yourself that girl!

  • Maddy had just voided #2 in the bathroom:
          Maddy:  "Daddy!  I went poo-poo!"
          Me:  "Yay!  Good job Maddy!"
          Maddy:  [pause]  "It's smelly."
Me:  "That's because you just went poo-poo."
          Maddy:  "Oh."  [big smile]

Have a great weekend!
