One year, 11 weeks
So another week has come and gone, and we are constantly hungry! Literally starving all the time, yet we're always eating. Go figure! But we've both lost some weight last week. I've dropped 3 lbs and if I continue at this pace will have lost about 12 lbs in one month's time. Gotta love it!

| Last Friday was Princess/Pirate dress up day at school so you can only guess what Braelyn decided to go as. Her royal highness was very cute and received many compliments on her way to class that day. |
After picking up the children from school Friday evening we shot across town to meet Mommy and deliver our traditional new baby Thai dinner to the Grodacks. We started this event after the birth of their second daughter Aubree and they had reciprocated at the birth of the twins last year, so it was our turn since Brady was born just 2 weeks ago. Alas, I don't expect them to return the return of this tradition as we are no longer planning on having any more children ourselves, so we might just be bringing some more Thai over to the Grodacks in a couple years again, wink wink.

| The hustle and bustle of hastily eating a nice dinner in order to satisfy the needs of the little ones. Crazy that we have 6 children between the two couples in just 4 short years! |

On Sabbath we headed to church and enjoyed catching up with friends. Braelyn and Calleigh have both graduated from the 3 year old class so they will be joining Kindergarten Sabbath School next week, how fun for them! The nice thing about this is that we can leave her there with the teacher while we take the twins down to Cradle Roll. That will definately help with the lack of hands.

Braelyn's point of view: Here she actually took our picture with the camera, pretty good job!

That afternoon Lolo and Lala drove up from Avon Park to spend the evening and Sunday with us and the grandkids. Tangie had been invited to 2 baby showers back to back on Sunday, so I took the kids with the help of my parents and hung out at the clubhouse and pool. It was a very enjoyable time, and Tangie got to hang out with the Mommy club and reconnect with friends. I will commend her for not indulging in all the sweets and desserts that accompany these showers, as we were entering week 2 of our diet. Talk about will power...at least, that's what she told me... ;-)

| Sunday night we met with our friends Cory and Amanda Reeves from Calhoun, GA, in town for a conference. They were part of the original 3 couples along with the Grodacks that had their first kids in 2007. They had left their 2 boys with the grandparents up in Tennessee, but here is a picture of all of us eating dinner at Cafe Positano in Apopka, a favorite haunt of ours. It was nice to see and catch up with them and get the gang together again. |
On Monday I swung by downtown to Tangie's office so we could swap cars so I could pick up the kids later that afternoon. I had forgotten about the circus that was the national media sensation of the coverage of the Casey Anthony case where she is being tried, accused of murdering her 2 year old daughter Caylee in 2008. Such heartbreak for this family but what a frenzy of crazy accusations that are coming out of this trial. It's been 31 days since they started and they believe the jury will have a verdict by early next week. Anyway, Tangie passed by a few men in suits at her office's parking garage the other day and realized it was Jose Baez and his team, the defense lawyer for Casey. Talk about being deb smack in the middle of the action!

| The corner adjacent to the courthouse also has been reserved for the media. Nancy Grace had her show broadcast from across the street this entire month. |
So like I said, we are in week 2 for our diet. Here are this week's dishes for supper, according to our meal plan:
![]() |
Thursday: Baked fish and veggies with steamed broccoli.
Friday: We skipped and had Thai with the Grodacks, although we didn't have noodles and our rice was brown! |
![]() |
Saturday: Baked chicken with veggies and parmesan cheese
Sunday: Dinner at Positano's, eggplant ricotta for me and salad with chicken for Tangie. |
![]() |
| Monday: Grilled chicken skewers with pineapple and mixed salad. |
![]() |
| Tuesday: One slice tuna melt with cucumber/tomato/basil/mozeralla salad |
![]() |
| Wednesday: Tilapia tacos on wheat tortilla with salsa and cucumber slices. |
![]() |
| Thursday: Greek veggie burger with feta/kalamata olives and alfalfa sprouts. |
Today was a real treat as my best friend Adam and his wife Annette are in town from Collegedale, TN for the long holiday weekend. We haven't seen each other since the holidays and it was great to go out this afternoon and play a round of golf on a course we had never played: the absolutely beautiful Mission Inn Golf club at Howey-in-the-Hills, FL. An amazing golf experience, and only raining on us once, we will definately go back to play again, especially if the price was as good as today!

| Like old times. |
The children are doing great. Maddy has learned to blow kisses now; Kohl puts his hand to his mouth to make the Native American Indian war call. Last night Braelyn was taking her sweet time getting ready for bed, and as I scolded her for taking too long and threatening to turn off the light without reading a story she turned to me and said in perfect context "Chill!" Lesson learned! It took all my strength not to burst out laughing, and I realized how much fun being a good parent is going to be. I look forward to more times and opportunities I can "chill" with these wonderful children.

Hope you all have a fun and safe holiday weekend!
