Week 25.5

This week we stayed pretty low key, only venturing out for church and 2 birthday parties. We were still trying to get the kids back on EST schedule, and on Thursday last week my body said “enough” and my immune system broke down. I tried to fight it off and managed going back to work Thursday and part of Friday.

Sabbath we made it to Sabbath School, and hooked up with some good friends of ours that had moved up to Calhoun, GA a couple of years ago. Corey and Amanda Reeves and their two boys, Noah and Jacob. Noah was born the same year as Braelyn and Calleigh Grodack, so it was a mini reunion of sorts. Amazing how they all changed in three years. Here is a flashback: from just a couple months old to present.

For lunch we were invited to the Kittrell’s in Altamonte Springs to celebrate their little boy Kenneth’s two year birthday. It was nice to see everyone and interesting to see how the dynamic of our friends have changed: From single to married to parents. There were a lot of kids! Braelyn enjoyed the hay ride.

Later that evening we hooked up with the Grodacks and the Reeves and took our minivans to the town of Celebration, near Disney. They were having a Fall Festival and did a leaves falling thing on main street, kind of what they do at Christmas with “snow”, actually soap bubbles. We had a picnic dinner on the grass and caught up as friends and parents do, while the youngsters ran around and chased each other until they were tuckered out. Afterwards we walked through the crowds and found a spot where we could catch some falling “leaves” that were leaf cutouts on confetti paper. What a mess to have to clean up!

On Sunday I worked and Tangie took the kids to another birthday party, this time our friends Karl and Fiorella Meidinger for their son Maddox’s first birthday party. It was space/rocket themed and Braelyn enjoyed pretending she was an astronaut and riding on a rocket ship. Amazing how creative these new parents are when throwing their firstborn their first birthday parties! I just feel sorry for any siblings that follow. Afterwards, it’ll be: “Here’s your cake. Blow out the candles. Happy Birthday!”

The rest of the week was routine. Tangie is busy preparing for a merger of one major client with another company. My team is getting ready for the Holiday Peak Season that is only a little over a month away. 2010 is waning too fast; I can’t remember anything that’s happened.
